There are echoes of everything from Alice in Wonderland to Fantastic Voyage, a movie that takes place inside the body. She frequently invites us to look at the world through the eyes of a child.Īt first glance Rist’s work seems to be all surface effects: psychedelic colours, dreamy music, sly gags, kitschy objects, games with size and scale.
